Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2025
BlockPedia ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at blockpedia.app (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service.
Information we collect
BlockPedia is a static reference website. We do not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to browse the site. The only data we may collect is:
- Log data: Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard server logs when you visit. These may include your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This data is used solely for security and performance monitoring and is not linked to any personal identity.
- Analytics: We may use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics (such as aggregate page views) to understand which blocks and pages are most useful. No personally identifiable information is collected for this purpose.
Cookies
BlockPedia does not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. We may use a single session cookie for technical purposes (e.g. remembering your preferred Minecraft version), which expires when you close your browser.
Third-party services
BlockPedia loads block textures from mcasset.cloud, a public Minecraft asset CDN. Your browser will make requests to that domain to load images. Please refer to their privacy policy for information about how they handle request data.
We use Google Fonts to load typefaces. Google may log font requests. See Google's privacy policy for details.
TikTok integration
BlockPedia operates a companion TikTok app ("BlockPedia Daily") that posts short daily videos about Minecraft blocks. This app uses the TikTok Content Posting API. If you choose to authorise the BlockPedia app on TikTok:
- We receive an OAuth access token scoped to
video.uploadonly. - We use this token solely to post content to your TikTok account on your behalf.
- We do not read, store, or share your TikTok profile data, followers, messages, or any other account information.
- You can revoke access at any time via TikTok's app settings.
Data retention
We do not retain personal data beyond what is described above. Server logs are automatically deleted by our hosting provider after 30 days. OAuth tokens are stored securely and are deleted if you revoke access or upon your request.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Since we collect minimal data, there is typically nothing to retrieve or delete. You can contact us at hello@blockpedia.app with any request.
Children's privacy
BlockPedia is a general-audience website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
